“Today I had a large drawing made and placed up in the dome to calculate the height ad went up about thirty feet and walking over open rafters could not keep my head and had to be helped down I seemed to be overwhelmed with fear and yet was walked about there just as much at home as if on the ground.  I hate to think of working on this high dome but it must be done and maybe I shall get used to it.  I presented my preliminary sketch today which was liked by the men and just as soon as I can determine as to the height of my figures I shall begin on the studies.”
